Past water damages, poor ventilation, and condensation are just a few opportunities for mold to grow and appear. Even though the cooler weather is approaching, there are a few ways you can help avoid mold production. For instance, before putting your window air conditioner away for the season be sure to check your AC condensation drain pan underneath the indoor air handler. It’s normal for it to be slightly wet, but still-water may indicate there is a clogged line. Stagnant water inside the pan can become a source of mold during the off months. To clear any clogs you will want to hire an HVAC professional to handle the precaution.
Another event for mold occurrence stems from high humidity levels and condensation. Acting quickly on leaks is crucial and using the appropriate equipment such as fans and dehumidifiers will cause the moisture in the air to dissipate.
Here at SERVPRO of Marion/Middleborough, we know it’s not always possible to intercept mold, so we are happy to provide you with a free estimate should one be necessary.
