Tips to Prevent Fall Water Damage - Rochester 02576

Fall weather in New England is always changing at this time of year, which means water damage issues are also in motion. Here are a couple of tips to prevent potential water damage.
- Keep your gutters clean.
- Leaves clog gutters and downspouts. When substantial rainfall occurs, gutters overflow and spill water down exterior walls, penetrating the siding and infiltrating wall cavities. Indoor water damage and mold growth may result. Doing this seasonally also prevents ice dams from forming in the winter months.
- Winterize your underground sprinklers.
- Prior to the first freezing, follow the manufacturer’s policies to winterize your underground sprinklers. An underground crack due to freezing in the mainline or the shutoff valve linked to the household water supply could affect the house foundation and cause flooding.
At SERVPRO of Marion / Middleborough, we hope your seasonal transition is smooth but know we are able to assist 24/7/365. No matter the time or season!
